Medical Assistant
Medical Assistants assist doctors with the administrative and minor clinical
tasks in doctor's office, hospitals, clinics and other health care settings. Medi
cal Assistants duties vary greatly depending on the size and location of the health
care facility they work at.
Our program is designed for students interested in becoming Medical Assistants or other health
care professionals already in the field seeking a comprehensive review. After completing our
classes final exam students will receive their Medical Assistant
career certificate and official program medical Assistant transcripts from the Windsor
School of Medical Assistants.
This course prepares students to become proficient in performing the duties required in a medical
office. Topics include ethics, law, & compliance as it affects conduct in an office, computer usage,
telephone procedures & scheduling, medical insurance, medical coding, medical billing, & medical
terminology. Students learn the MediSoft software package, as well as, MS Word and Excel. Typing skills
are also improved by performing typing drills.

Medical
assistants are uniquely trained to work in both clinical and
administrative settings. They take patient histories, answer
insurance questions, and schedule appointments. They perform
phlebotomy, electrocardiography, and equipment inventory and
maintenance. In short, medical assistants are a highly versatile and
essential component of the health care
team.
Today’s
medical assistants are expected to not only master the body of
knowledge of the profession, but also to apply their knowledge in
the fast-paced field of health care. As such, critical thinking is
key. Medical assistants must also be equipped to serve as
communication liaisons between busy physicians and patients, often
assuming the role of The Medical Assisting program from WIT prepares
you for a vital role in any medical office. As a Medical Assistant
you will be updating medical records, performing lab tests and
interfacing with both doctors and patients. This program is uniquely
